Granular desiccant style filter driers are designed for new installations, particularly air conditioning systems. These driers have excellent filtering ability and moisture removal capabilities.
The filter drier should be supported by bracket where necessary to prevent undue strain on the refrigerant line. To obtain maximum corrosion resistance, avoid scratching or burring the paint during installation. Do not install these filter driers where they will be subject to temperatures below -50*F. At these low temperatures the steel shell may be sensitive to impact or other stress and may give unsatisfactory performance.
